It was ok. It's not easy to fit four rods and reels in the four holes because just not enough room between the holes. The only way I could do it was put two reels on one side and two on the other and then it was a force job.
One of them was broken in shipping and was promptly replaced free if charge and in time for my trip. Awesome work!
Portability and organization keeps you efficient, People always say wow, what is that !
This caddy is my 3rd of different types of carriers for my rods. Honestly this is the easiest and most convenient rod carrying system out there! The automatic legs and light weight but rigid structure are perfect for keeping the rods separated but together! I only recently bought them but they seem to be well made so hoping for a long life with them!
If I could give this 4.5 stars I would, I feel like it's not perfect but very close. Baitcasters fit very snug. If you mix casters with spinning rods you'll be good-to-go, but I usually roll with mostly baitcasters and this could use maybe an inch or two more width to accommodate baitcast reels side-by-side. As-is it requires you to maneuver each other out of the way to access and store them next to each other. Addionally I use ski racks as my rod racks on the roof of my car (the truck mount works well in my truck no complaints there) and this would not fit initially. I drilled holes in the rack bottom under the offsetting cups and installed bolts long enough to reach the racks. Simple upgrade that made loading the whole thing on the roof a snap. Carrying it around is fantastic although I wish there was maybe a quick release for the legs. You cannot put the rack down one-handed easily. The legs require two hands to operate as they have an automatic retraction system when you pick it up. It works OK, but if you place it on uneven ground and it starts to fall even slightly the legs will retract and it is going to fall for sure. So a deployment system and maybe a lockout once deployed would be nice. It's a big ask for sixty bucks especially considering the quality of the base materials. Speaking of materials it is aluminum (nice) and what appears to be quality plastic. It has spent a few hundred hours on the top of my car already this season including through a fair deal of rain. No discoloration or corrosion at all so far. You're really not going to find a product this well thought out in this price range. If you've read this so far just hit "buy," you'll be happy. Note: I saw someone did a review on the fact that it did not fit their saltwater rods. Duh, it clearly states freshwater. This is a fairly compact rod holder, you're not fitting your offshore gear on this. Look elsewhere.
